All Sacred Tears Locations in Elden Ring and How to Use Them
In Elden Ring, progression isn't just about defeating bosses or upgrading weapons — it's also about maximizing your survivability. One of the most essential upgrades comes from Sacred Tears, rare items that boost the potency of your Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears. For those serious about thriving in the Lands Between, tracking down each Sacred Tear is a must.
This guide covers all Elden Ring Sacred Tears locations, explains their use, and provides tips for collecting them early in your journey.
What Are Sacred Tears?
Sacred Tears are upgrade materials found in churches scattered across the Lands Between. When used at a Site of Grace, they increase the amount of HP or FP restored per flask use. Unlike Golden Seeds, which increase the number of flask uses, Sacred Tears focus solely on improving the effectiveness of each individual drink.
You don’t need to meet any specific stat requirements, and there are no penalties — once you find a Sacred Tear, it’s a straightforward and permanent upgrade.
How to Use Sacred Tears
To use a Sacred Tear, rest at any Site of Grace and choose “Flasks” > “Increase amount replenished by flasks.” You’ll need one Sacred Tear per upgrade, and the effect is immediate. You can use them early in the game, and they remain relevant all the way to the final boss.
Note that there are a total of 12 Sacred Tears in the game, each found in front of a statue inside a church.
All Sacred Tear Locations
Here’s a breakdown of every Sacred Tear location, region by region, to help you plan your route efficiently:
Limgrave
Third Church of Marika: Located northeast of Mistwood. Easy to access early on.
Church of Pilgrimage: In southern Weeping Peninsula.
Callu Baptismal Church: On the hill in western Weeping Peninsula.
Fourth Church of Marika: Southwest Weeping Peninsula.
Liurnia of the Lakes
Bellum Church: Found in the northeast, near the Grand Lift of Dectus.
Church of Irith: Just after defeating Godrick, before entering Liurnia.
Church of Inhibition: On the northern cliffs, guarded by Frenzied enemies.
Caelid
Church of the Plague: Southeast of Sellia, guarded by Rot-infested enemies. Be cautious here.
Church of the Dragon Communion (Caelid): Not to be confused with the one in Limgrave. Located near the southern cliffs.
Altus Plateau
Second Church of Marika: Found along the road to the Shaded Castle.
Stormcaller Church: Near the northern cliffs of Altus Plateau.
Mountaintops of the Giants
First Church of Marika: Located at the far west of the Mountaintops, beyond the giant frozen lake.
Tips for Finding Sacred Tears Safely
Avoid Caelid early on unless you’re confident. While the Church of the Plague has a Sacred Tear, the enemies in the area are far more aggressive and dangerous in the early game.
Weeping Peninsula offers several easy-to-claim Sacred Tears with minimal resistance.
When exploring Liurnia, stick to the roads and follow your map fragments. Many churches are just off the beaten path.
Use Torrent to quickly enter and exit dangerous areas if you're underleveled.
Every Elden Ring Sacred Tear you find is a direct upgrade to your survival, especially crucial when facing late-game bosses or high-damage PvP duels. While they’re scattered across different regions, most are located in unguarded or lightly guarded churches, making them some of the most accessible upgrades in the game.
Don’t wait too long to track them down — the earlier you boost your flask potency, the smoother your journey will be through the Lands Between.
